Our story · since 1969

The Beginning
Kan Eang began as a humble seaside shack where fishermen would bring their daily catch to be cooked fresh. The name"Kan Eang"translates to"easy-going"or"relaxed", which perfectly captured the spirit of those early days.
Fifty-five years later, we are still here — still on the same pier, still cooking the same recipes, and still welcoming everyone like family. While the shack has grown into a spacious waterfront destination, our core values remain unchanged.
We believe that great food doesn't need to be complicated; it just needs to be fresh, authentic, and prepared with love.

We build our iconic pier dining area, letting guests eat right over the water with their feet nearly touching the bay. This transforms the dining experience into something truly special.
1995
Kan Eang becomes a must-visit destination. Tour guides start bringing visitors from around the world to taste authentic local seafood and experience the true taste of Phuket.
2010
The grandchildren take over daily operations, modernizing the kitchen and service standards while fiercely protecting the traditional recipes and family atmosphere.
